OVERVIEW Volume one, issue one of Interface, a peer-reviewed e-journal produced and refereed by social movement practitioners and engaged movement researchers, takes the special theme of "Movement knowledge". This issue, edited by Laurence Cox and Cristina Flesher Fominaya, contains 12 pieces in English, Portuguese and Spanish by authors from Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Spain, Turkey, the UK, the US and Venezuela.
Articles include a substantial editorial overview of the field; articles on action research, learning in environmental movements, continuing education in Brazil, the Brazilian MST and MTST, and the existence of social movements; action notes on alternative history in the UK, alternative publishing in Turkey, wisdom councils and alternative education; and book reviews on the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty and Jewish criticism of Israel.
